The'purchase has been approved by jfche Government under the Land for Settlements Act of a property near Te 'Ardha; owned by Mr. James M'Nicol »nd family.
In making this announcement to-day, rtfc€ Minister of Lands and ••■ActingiPrime Minister (the Hon. E. A. Baneom) said that'the land is situated about four miles from the tpwit, and is wnintintly suitable for dairying. The area'purehased is some 2028 acres, onehalf of which comprises particularly iieh river, flat country, the balance being in good pasture. ."The estate 13 well watered and is traversed by' a setal road," said' Mr. Ransom. "From 12 to 14 good farms will be obtained, and it is "confidently anticipated that the sections will be eagerly sought after when offered for selection, which will "bti in March next. Possession will be jyhren at tiie end of April, and the accessary surveys- and additional roading, will be placed in hand shortly. The subdivision of this large area will give more intensive occupation ;than is the ease at present. The country is in good heart,, having always been used for grazing."
