LAST CRICKET SEASON
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION
DELEGATES' KEENNESS
, There was a chill in the air which pWliapß made it nioro difficult for thoughts to turn to flannels aud warm summer afternoons, hut, nevertheless, :i..'.keen cricket "feeling" was evident among the sixty-odd delegates who attended the- annual meeting last evening of the Wellington Cricket Association in/ the Basin Reserve Pavilion. Mr. .VI. 11.I1. Luckie prosided, and among 1 hose present were many old supporters of .'the game".
'Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, details of which have appeared in "Tho Post," Mr. Luckie said that tho association waa able to record a remarkably good season—remarkable in a good many respects. Mr. Luckie dwelt on the many benefits that had accrued as a result of the visit to the Dominion of the M.0.0. team, a very strong side* he said, containing some of the bestknown players in England, and others who had made names for themselves since returning to England. The games that had been played in the Dominion against the M.C.C. team had revealed a'very market advance in the standard of New Zealand cricket, and that was something of -which to feel proud. \
