General and Lady Bledisloe returned t» Wellington yesterday after spending the week-end at National^Park.- la the afternoon Their Excellencies were present at the "at home" of the EarlySettlers' Association held at the iDo» minion Fanners' Institute.- This morning ■ the Governor-General and Lady* Bledisloe visited the Ohiro Home at Brooklyn, and in the afternoon attend' fid the Horticultural Society's Sprinjf Show at Karori, which was opened by the Governor-General. This evening Her Excellency will be pvesent at tho annual inspection of the St. John Ambulance Nursing Divisions.. To-morKnr Her Excellency will visit the Citizens* Day Nursery, and in the evening tho Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe will attend a concert to be given by tho Wellington Chamber Music Players. On Thursday- Their Excellencies will pay visits to the Victoria Homo and the Homo for the Aged Needy. Ou I Friday Her Excellency will bo present at the reception to be given by* the English-speaking Union, and on Saturday at a garden party at St." Mary's Convont. His Excellency will leave for Christchureh on Friday evening, and on the following day will open the new Plunkfit Rooms and a new Baptist Church in that city.

Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Straehaa returned to Wellington to-day by the Mating*nui from Sydney, after spending fonr» teen .very enjoyable months in travelling through Great Britain. and Europe.
Sir Otto Niemeyer, financial advuer to the Bank of England, accompanied. by Mr. A. D. Park (Secretary to tliij Treasury), Mr. D. Ardell (representative of the Department of Inte'-nal Affairs), and Miss Wilson (confidential secretary to Sir Otto), returned to Wellington this morning from a 'visit to the s Hermitage-, Mount Cwk, 'where lie spent the week-end. He* will 'be tendered a luncheon by the New' Zealand Club to-morrow, and will leave for Australia on Thursday.
