Another case of a man. stowing away on an intercolonial-steamer for the trip across the Tasman was" heard in the Magistrate's Conrt : to-day. . Frank Clisby, aged 27, was landed by the Maunganui at Wellington to-day, and later in the Court he admitted .having stowed away on the ship. Sub-Inspector Lopdell said that Clisby originally belonged to New Zealawfl. He stowed away at Auckland.and on arrival in Sydney was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. After being released from prison, Clisby was unable to. find work, and stowed away on the Maunganui for the trip to Wellington. . The .mate of the Maunganui, said the . sub-inspector, :wished ; . him ■ .to stress that cases of stowing away were becoming, general.
