IMPRESSIVE LAST DAY
BIG CROWD "WATCHES EVENTS
SYDNEY, 21&t September.
The air pageant concluded at Hargravo Park yesterday. Forty-two machines participated, in beautiful weather and in the presence of twentyfivo thousand watchers.
Plying Officer E. Sims, piloting a Westland Wapiti, won the Air Derby, averaging 135 miles an hour.
Two machines avoided a collision by t*> o merest margin. Skilful, handling by Pilot Shortridge saved the situation.
Tho pilots Mollison and Shortridge flew upside down for several minutes.
Mrs. Terry wort the Amy Johnson trophy, which is for a race for women members. Mrs. Terry averaged 85 miles an hour.
A number of machines gave a display of aerial acrobatics.
