■ NELSON, 20th September. The Wellington Kugby colts' team concluded their tour of the Slarlborough, Nelson^ Golden Bay districts to-day by defeating the Nelson representatives by 21 points to 13, after a Clever display of combined play. The ground was very hard, and stoppages in the play were frequent, owing to injuries. Chesterinan went to hospital with a broken collarbone.

Todcl opened the scoring for Nelson by diving on the ball when it was kicked over tlie line by M'Lean. Newman, increased the local team's lead with a nice penalty goal, and a minute afterwards the same player potted a neat goal with his left foot, putting Nelson 10 points in the lead after fifteen minutes' play. AA rellington scored a spectacular try when Coman Hent Killeen away on the blind side. He passed to Brodefick, who transferred to the forwards, and Roberts and M'Donnld finished off with a try under the posts. Coman converted. The score at half-time was still 10 to 5.

Soon after the commencement o£ the Hecoiid spell Coman shot the ball out -to Killeen (who had replaced Chestorman), imel it Went on to Robins, M'Donald, and Neal> the last-named diving over for a try tit the c6rner. Neal converted with a great kick from the sideline. Wellington took the lead when the boll travelled £lOng the backs to Bioderick's winjt, the latter scoring. A minute after* wards' Wood fielded a mis-kick by Alexander, aftd Bent backs and forwards off in si short passing rush for Robins to streak over. Coinan converted. Newman^ made up some of the leeway fur Nelson by kicking a great penally goal from the sideline. Just before the end of the gaunt Coman, Killeen, Robins, M'Donald, and Killeen handled the ball in a movement from which the last-named scored. The try was not converted, and the final score was: Wellington 21. Nelson 13 As a curtain-raiser, Marlborough College Old Boys defeated Nelson College Old Boys by 22 points to 14.
