SHANDON AND WAIWETU
■ Waiwetu visited Shandon on Saturday, and was defeated by a narrow margin. Kach club won eleven of the singles, and the fourballs were slightly in favour of Shandon. The following are the results of the singles, Waiwetu players first mentioned: — Adamson beat Cathro, 3 and 2. Gwilliain beat Hunter, 1 up. Gilbertson lost to Bowring, 1 down. Walker and Stuckey, all square. Cook lost to Ballintyne, 4 and 2. Hogg beat M'Carroll, 6 and 5. Davis lost to Clapcott, 2 down. Ryan lost to Stubberfield, 3 and 2. Toswill and Bowen, all square. Gnnn beat Poole, 1 up. Duncan beat M'lvor, 2 up. Maitland beat Fergie, i and 8. Hanson lost to Low, 1 down. Alston and Swan, all square. Burns lost to Mackay, 2 down, Andrews lost to Frazer, 5 and 4. Wilson lost to Johansen, 3 and &, Marsden beat Taylor, 4 and 3. Harvey beat Wallace, 7 and 5. Ferris lost to Reid, 4 and 3. Collie lost to Hodd, 4 and S. Rodger lost to Hargreaves, 2 down. Johnson beat Stevens, 6 \ip. W. Rodger beat Bishop, 2 and 1. Firth beat Smith, 1 up.
