RUGBY FOOTBALL
THE FINAL GAMES
Wellington's Kugby reproseiitative engagements for the season will be concluded next Saturday, when two teams are to be placed in the field. There will be a match with Manawhenua at Palmerston North, and one with Taranalci at Wellington. The Taranaki representatives are to play Wairarapa on | Wednesday and will arrive in Wellington on Thursday. A correspondent ("Forward^) writes:—"While congratulating Mr. Millard on the able manner in which he has selected our representatives "during this season, and thanking him for enabling us to regain the much^coveted Banfurly Shield, there is one man I think he has overlooked—^-Stanley, 'of the Wellington Club team. Throughout the season this player played most consistently, acting as the leader of his team of forwards. He is particularly strong scram work, being a great dribbler, a deadly tackier, as .well as a fine tactician. Of. course, playing in the"'B' grade, it is quite possible that the selector, has not noticed him, and this possibly accounts.for his not getting a chance in either of our representative teams this year. I feel certain he would be an acquisition to our forwards."
