HONG KONG, 19th Sept. Reports here reveal chaotic conditions in French Indo-China and An-1 nam, where scarcely a day passes without armed clashes between natives and bands rebelling against French rule. The most serious incident from the point of view of casualties took place last Friday at Vinh, an important North Annam centre, where an army of rebels of many thousands marched on launching a massed attack. . The French forces were in readiness. They employed a squadron of military 'planes which checked the rebels in a lively encounter. The rebels left over a hundred dead and hundreds of wounded. Many were captured by French pursuers. The country bears the semblance of a war zone. The French are supplementing existing forces with Foreign Legion detachments.
