LABOUR DAY MEETING
For years past the events promoted by the Labour Day Celebrations Committee have provided the first racing of the season for local athletes'and cyclists, and this year also in the programme that has been arranged for .the big day at Newtown Park on 27th October they have been well catered for. The athletic events, which will be run under the rules of the N.Z.A.A.A., and will be under the control of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre, are as follow: 100 yds, 220yd9, 880 yds, one mile, three miles cycle, one mile cycle, 7oyds ladies, 100 yds ladies, SSOyds cycle, high jump, relay race, aud ladies' relay. For these events . there will be trophies of a total value of over £50.
