AN EARTHQUAKE
GROUND TILTED
At 4,52 o'clock this morning many who were not awake had their slumbers disturbed by a decided earthquake. It lasted for several seconds, but was not of sufficient intensity to cause any damage or real alarm.
The seismographs at the Dominion Observatory, Kelburn, show that the origin of the disturbance was approximately ninety miles from Wellington, to the north or north-west, and that there was a distinct tilt in the ground to the north-east.
