CHRISTCHUECH, 18th Sept,

The Diocesan Board of Education has appointed Mrs. liacpherson, who ia now in England, headmistress of the Craighead Girls' School, Timaru, in succession to Miss Salmond, who died in tragic circumstances at the St. George's Hospital a few weeks ago, Mrs. Macpherson, who was educated in England and Scotland, is a Master of Arts, Edinburgh, and has had teaching experience in Canada and England.

Mrs. C. L. Young, M.A. (Oxford), assistant mistress of the Girls' High School, Christchurch, has been appointed headmistress of St. Margaret's College, Christehurch.
