Approximately 5650 bales were sold. There was a moderate selection of greasy merinos, principally good, style spinners' wools, and'excellent'.offerings. of scoureds of all sorts. New Zealand wool met with fairly ..brisk-, general competition, and prices were maintained for greasy combings. Realisations: New South Wales, "Merribee" lid to W/zd, Gooudoo Blue ]3'/4d to 12d, "EV" 12 Jid to lid. Queensland, scoured, "Marathon" 32d to 265. New Zealand greasy crossbred, "Oringi," 9%d to 9%d.
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd.; and Abraham-and Williams, Ltd., report having received cabled advice from their Bradford agents, reading as follows: "Merinos, %d to Id down; fine crossbreds, a shade weaker; medium and coarse crossbreds, VzA down on account of the position of the raw material market;: users "'of tops are well covered for immediate needs, and are keeping out of the market aa much as possible." Hesters; Dalgety advise, London, 18th September: . "Wool-sales continue with opening rates of-series fully maintained. Competition more general, Home trade operating more freely, especially for crossbred. Abont 75 per cent, of offering are sold daily."
