THE TROTS AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, 17th September

The sum of £.7494 is available for relief of unemployment in Auckland as the result of the special race meeting held by the Auckland Trotting Club on 30th August and Ist September." The Auckland Hospital Board and the Auckland City Council will each receive £3747, one-half of the total, the board to spend its share in relieving distress caused by unemployment and the council to use its half in providing work.

The profit on the meeting was £2082, and Government taxation to be refunded £5412.
