VEGETABLE GARDEN.
Rhubarb may be planted in Tvellmariiirod groundi ' This crop can stand any amount of manure. Fowl manure iB particularly good.
Plant out lettuces ; eatbages, cauliflowers, and onions. Sow seed of lettuce, radish, peas, carrots, turnips, parsnips, broad beans, spinach, and all salad plants. Earth up potatoes, first spraying them with Bordeaux Mixture as a preventive against blight. Earth up peas prior to staking. A light sprinkling of superphosphate along the rows before earthing will improve the growth. Thin out as required all seedling crops. Soot, slaked lime, or powdered alum sprinkled among the tender seedlings will keep away slugs and snails.
