WEDDING
The wedding was celebrated at tho Knox Church, Lower Hutt, this afternoon, of Barbara, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bbberts, Selkirk, Scotland, and granddaughter of Sir John Boberts, Dunedin, to Dr. John Martin Tivhigg, eldest son of Mr. and tho late Mrs. Twhigg, Dnnediu, the Bey. J. Macaw officiating. The bride's beautiful frock was of needle-run parchment lace, over peach ninon. The closely fitting bodice was attached to a deep yoke, the skirt falling to the ankles in soft flared folds. Long tight sleeves with dainty pointed cuffs and a small cape were worn. The veil (which had been worn by the bride's mother), was attached to a small lace cap, and finished with a wreath of orange blossoms and white heather. Her bouquet was of cream and pale piuk sweetpeas and hyacinths.' The bridesmaid, Miss Marie Stead (Hawkes Bay) wore a charming frock of pink floral taffeta with shortwaisted bodice, the skirt being flared arid finished with a deep flounce of pink tulle. She wore.a plain pink felt hat, and carried a dainty Victorian posy. The best man was Mr. B. J. Maunsell. A reception was held at Tiro Moana, the home of Sir Alexander and Lady Boberts, the reception rooms being beautifully decorated with plum blossonij rhododenrons, and huge bowls of polyanthus. The wedding cake, which was sent from Scotland, was decorated with gold and white favours and sprays of orange blossom and white heather. Lady Boberts received her guests wearing a frock of lime patterned floral ninon with coatee, and a lime straw hat. She carried a bouquet to' tone. Among those present were Miss Mabel Twhigg (in figured crepe do chine with black cloth coat), Mr. and Mrs. Percy Macassey, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Macassey, Messrs. B. and A. Twhigg, Dr. and Mrs. Boyd, Dr. and Mrs. Tennent, Dr. and Mrs. Hope Bobertson, Misses Sheila M'Pherson, Cushla Dowling, Farquar, Drs. Stout, Bolt, Brown, Litehfleld. When the bride left later she wore a brown check tweed skirt, short red suede coat; and a red hat.
