The Ngaio, engaged In the Nelson ferry service In place of tho Matangl, which is at present under overhaul, did not arrive at Wellington until 10.50 o'clock this morning, over flvo hours late. The Ngaio left Nelson at 7.30 o'clock last evening,' and sailed -via Stephen's Island. After leaving Stephen's Island at about 1 o'clock this morning the Ngaio ran into a strong southerly gale and head seas tiiat continued until the vessel's arrival at Wellington. THE RANGITIKI'S DEPARTURE,

The departure of the -RanglMk! from Auckland for Southampton has been delayed by rain, but the vessel was expected to leave the northern city at 10 o'clock this afternoon.

OMANA DUE TO-MORROW.

The Omana, which left Newcastle on 12th September for Wellington, is expected to arrive at Wellington to-morrow afternoon.
