THE SECOND TEST
NICHOLLS IN TEAM
MILL AND. LILBURNE OUT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DTJNEDIN, 22nd June. The Newv Zealand team for the second Rugby Test match between Great Britain and New Zealand is the same as yesterday's .with the exception that Corner replaces Mill at half, M. Nicholls replaces Lilburne at first fiveeighth, and B. Stewart replaces Batty, who is not available. •' Ths team is now as followi:— Full-back: Nepia. Three-quarters. Hart, Lucas, ' Olivet. Five-eigliths: Cooke. Nicholls. Half-back: Corner. "Wing forward: Porter. Hookers: Cottrcll, Irvine. Lock: Steere. Supports: Knlayson, M'Williami. Back tow: Hazlett, Stewart. (By Telegrtph.—From "Drop Kick.") DUNEDIN, Tnis day. ' The New Zealand selectors have made only three changes in the team for the second Test: Corner, Nicholls and Stewart replace Mill, Lilburne and Batty respectively. Batty was not available), but Stewart's inclusion will even up the pack, in which Irvine is fortunate to retain his place. Although it is hard to condemn players on performance under Saturday's conditions there was no doubt that both Mill and Lilburne had to go. _ The risks in playing these men were pointed out previously by the writer, and after the Oamaru try-out it was suggested that a safer course for the back combination in the first Test would have been to play Nicholls as first fiveeighth and Cooke as second. This has now been adopted by the selectors. Corner's selection is risky, but if'tho forwards do as well as in the second spell on Saturday the Auckland halfback should bo able to givo excellent service. HUby would have been of great value to the Now Zealand sido on Saturday. - Tho selectors are calling upon players for the second Test to assemble1 in Christchurch on Tuesday next. This course is essential, even if it is not in accordance with the decision of tho Now Zealand Rugby Union' regarding the as-, sembly of teams not more than two days before a match.
