■ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The petition to the Executive Council of Frederick Peter Mouat, of Christi church, at present serving a sentence,of seventeen yoars 1 imprisonment for manj slaughter, has failed; ! Mouat sought quashing of the cou- | viction, or pardon, or a re-opening of , the case, in which he was charged with wife-murder. The Attorney-General, after giving reasons, says that there are not sufficient grounds for taking action.
