ROAD CYCLING
LYSTER WINS 25-MILES RACE
Thirteen riders started in the 25 miles race held on Saturday afternoon by the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Club (N.Z.A.A.A.). A strong head wind was encountered on- the outward journey, and progress was slow, but coming back the pace was fast. K. Lyster, (smin) was the winner, and he also secured second fastest time. The fastest time was made by. P. N, Robinson, who started from scratch. Several of the riders w.ere unlucky. F. Chri^tensen had tiro trouble twice;, the handlp-bnrs of L. Kenny's machine broke near Ivgahauranga, and he fell, bringing down L. Lnbone. Except for a few bruises, neither rider was injured. Details of the race are:— R. Lyster (Sniin), riding time, GSmin lusec '...... 1 G. Pnniti (omin), 6Smin 15 l-ssec 2 ,4 Toomer (7.nnii). 70min lOsec 3 G. S. Bright (omin), GSiiiin' 22sec ..... 4 Fastest times: F. N. Robiiison (scr), OCiniii 15sec. Lyster and Puniti were second and third respectively. A special trophy for the race, given by Mr. X G. Guy,, of the Council of the X.Z.A.A.A., as well as the other trophies, will be presented at the club room to : morrow vening. , E. Wheaton won the boys' race; E. Milnei" was second' nnd E. Eyton third.
