Lonsdale and Co., Ltd., London:—"Butter: Market slow, advance not maintained. New Zealand, Australian, 132s to 1345; Danish, 138s to 140s. Cheese: Market weak, owing no demand. • White 82s to S3s, coloured 87s to 88s." , Cabled advice received by Mr. Q. A. Mills from London, under date Ist May, also gives, market prices as ruling at the closel of business on Thursday, and describing butter "The market is quiet," and cheese "The market is quiet."
