ABOLITION OPPOSED

The movement for the abolition of compulsory military training was discussed by veterans of the Wellington Regiment, N.Z.E.F., at a meeting held after their annual re-union at Palmerston North on 26th April, and the following resolution was carried unanimously: . i "That this mooting of veterans of the Wellington, Regiment, - N.Z.E.F., views with alarm the suggestion^ to abolish compulsory military training, and. considers1 that the amounts provided for defence in the past year should not be further reduced, and that no attempt should be made to reducotho Defenco Forces unless and until there is an organised scheme of disarmament throughout the civilised nations of the-world, and then only in proportion to the reduction by other nations."
