CYCLING ON THE BITUMEN.
There are apparently many cyclists who do not know that it is an offence to ride on the bitumen surface of Lower Hutt roads, especially in portions of the borough where a cycle track has been provided, as is in Railway avenue and the northern portion of the borough. For breaches of this bylaw the following penalties were inflicted by Messrs. 1\ Feist and W. N. Dempsey, J.P.s, who presided at the Lower Hutt Court yesterday:—S. Cooley, B. Haraer, Chas. Brady, M 0 Cross, T. G. Cook, S. Willis, D. Linton, H. Eason, P. Gower, G. Hall, K. Spencer, A. M'lndoe, Wm. Trigger, and C. N. Owen, fined 10a each; Wm. Wilson] F. Jenkins, JR. Kyle, P. Hastings, and R. C. Tegg, fined 5s each; and A. Matenga, costs only.
