The weekly meeting of the Mnnagcincut Committee of tlie Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr. J. Prendeville presiding. The following transfers were granted: W. R. Taylor, Miramar to Upper Hutt; C. Budd, from Eastbourne to Scots College Old Boys; R. Cookson, Athletic to Berhampore; If. Judge, Athletic to Hutt; H. Dyhrberg, Technical Old Boys to Poneke; R. Nccs, Upper Hutt to Hutt; K. Drury, Technical Old Boys to Poneke; G-. Campbell, Mclrose to Scots College Old Boys; R. Fisher, Tipi Love, and *L. Garner, Petone to Moera; P. G. Pullan, Hutt to Eastbournej E. S. Anderson, T. Thomas, and. C. J. Paton, Railways to Wellington; J. Congreve, Technical Old Boys to Upper Hutt; J. Dustin, Old Boys to Athletic. An application from F. Thornton for a transfer from Wellington to Berhampore was held' over until the application is put in order. .■■■ A request from the Miramar Club to have, a return match played ' with the Gladstone (Wairarapu) team as a curtainraiser to tlie match against the British team on 3rd June was held, over till 13th May.. ...... The Wellington Referees' Association advised that the referees capable of oflV ciating in senior matches are as follow: Messrs.. C. X. Andrew, H. H. Auslow, J. Bennett, J. 15. Benson, G. Bradley, D. Cplcinai, H. Eton, T. A. Fletcher,' D. J. Guiney; J. Gilchrist, G. Hoare, G. B. Heley, H. S. Leith, J. Moffitt, R. J. Paton, H. Pilcher, D. Paris, G. Rathbon, J. Scott, H. Sou'per, J. B. Watson, R. Wilkinson, and J. A. Wilson. Mr, J. Moflitt reported that it had. been decided: to have instruction classes.iv the Hutt 'Valley'- to be held on Wednesday nights, alternately in Pelone and Lower Hutt. . It was, hoped by this means to recruit a number of new referees. MATCH WITH WANGANUI. ;! The'Wanganui Union wrote regretting that the home and home matches between tlie two unions had been allowed to lapse, and expressing a desire that they be reinaugurated. .It was mentioned that the match wi/'tli Wellington had proved a very popular attraction with the Wanganui public. • •In reply-to a remark that Wellington had not played home and home matches with Wangauui, Mr. J. N. Millard explained that they had been plajred' iv alternate years. . ■ Mr. Prendeville said he had been approached by Dr. Adams, president of the Wauganui Union, on the matter, and he had told Dr. Adams he did not know whether Wellington could arrange a match with Wanganui. . Wanganui had broken aw;ay from.the rota last year, when they had not carried out the''''southern tour that was .expected of them, aud be would, have to wait and see what the other unions were going to do. Since then Wanganui had not approached him; ■■ Mr. G; Jackson: "We went to Wanga-nuj-last year in'-.return for the visit they paid us in-1926." .Mr. Prendeville mentioned that Wanganui were to tour the South Island this season anil they would be -.returning to Wellington', in ■"■August, wliei it would be impossible to play them. ■, Wellington would possibly have a spare day towards the end of the season, and-the match might be arranged then. ~ . . ■ :.Tlie' Marlborough Union asked advice 4s. to'the laying down of a gymnasium floor,, and the secretary -was instructed to reply that most of the Wellington clubsi favourl ed sawdust with sand.
