Further results of the .school committee elections which took,place on Monday night are as follows:— Tawa Flat.—The following . members were, elected:.. Messrs. C. Mextcd (chairman), A. Walker • (secretary), H. Greer, Turkington, and Mrs. Dawson. . The outgoing committee reported a successful year, with a credit balance'of £103 in the bank, raised by the committee and people of ■ the'disiri.it'for the benefit o£ the school: . ■ Eastern Hutt.—Only eight nominations were received for the nine seats at Eastern Hutt, and'the following were declared elected:—Messrs. H. V. Dyer (chairman), V. H. Piper' (secretary), L. H! Wesley: (treasurer), H. S. Dudding, F. ; G. Clarke, H. Burgess, W. Elsom, K. Tait. South' Wellington.—Over fifty. householders attended the meeting at Sou'di Wellington. Mr. Chegwidden presided. No election was necessary, as the'only nomination received -was.withdrawn;. The. following motion was carried:—-"That as a protest, against the inadequate maintenance allowance "granted by, the .Education* Board, this meeting of 'householders declines, to.'.rioinWte ''any-, names for^ the board's approval as a school committee. Discussion', tbok"< place' on xmder-stafeng, and a motion was passed protesting strongly against "the large classes in primary jsch'b'ols and the lack. of real hygienic conditions." . ;■'.- ■. . '■ . • Eandwick.—Thirteen ; nominations were received, -ana a toll committee elected at Kandwick' School. : Mr. J., ,L. Een.toul presided. A resolution -was moved, "That the committee be recommended to resign in the event of att increase .in capitation not being granted,";.but the-iollow-in" amendment was),earned: That this meeting-of residents unanimously supports the School. Cbmmittee' in its' contention that the 'capitation -.allowance tor. the maintenance of .the-school is totally inadequate, and' • that the committee canno. be expected to function efficiently until a substantial 'increase in the i-per-; .capita allowance has been1 granted.'
