INVESTMENT COMPANIES

"Accountancy, Commerce, and Insurance,". New Zealand, trenchantly criticises the attitude of the New- Zealand Stock Exchange Association towards flotation of trust investment companies in the Dominion. The .association recently resolved that no member of any Stock Exchange in New Zealand shall act in any capacity whatever in the flotation or control of any Trust Investment Company. The journal quoted remarks that investment trust companies in England today stand in the forefront of successful enterprises, and "admittedly confer a great boon upon the small investor. Some of these companies have been in existence' for sixty years "and never yet has any Exchange or its members suffered in the manner suggested by reason of the operation of these companies." It is also noted that "the Wellington Exchange was the only one to vote against the proposals'." ' , . '
