THE WATER, BOARD'S YEAR
A statement of receipts aud expenditure by the City and the Suburban Water Supply Board from Ist April, 1929,-.to 31st March, 1930, showed total receipts of £5965 3s Bd, as follows: — Credit balance, £-162 Ds 6dj rents, £300 10s 2d; trapping opossums, £607 10s Id; timber, £1515 3s lOd; permit, £1 Is; sundries, £18 3s Id; contribution, £3000. Expenditures included: Wages, £1852 17s sd; material, £134 19s 8d; survey, £123 4s sd; hire of cycle, £22 6s 8d; printing, advertising, and stationery, £57 10s Cd; petrol; £2 14s; forestry, £137 lls 2d; royalty on timber, £310-13s 2d; Departmental services, £75; accident insurance, £83 16s lid; legal costs, £148 Is 6d; transport, £11 17s 8d; expenditure year 1927-28, £112; interest, £520 16s 9d; sinking fund, £142. The unexpended balance was £2172 12s 7d.. It was decided that the planting area for 1930 bo 133 'acres of Messrs. Campbell Bros.' lease, formerly in grass but now largely in fern. The interest chargeable on unpaid contributions by local bodies was fixed at 1 per cent.
