AVALANCHE IN ITALY

VILLAGE OVERWHELMED

EOME, 23rd February.

An avalanche overwhelmed a number of houses in the Bolognola district, burying tho inhabitants. Thirteen were dug out dead; five were recovered injured, and seven are missing, . for whom" the rescuers are searching. Many cattle, perished.

The avalancho was caused by a succession of heavy snowfalls. Rolling down from the Perano Mountain, it overwhelmed forty houses in the hamlet of Dimezzo Bologna. Soldiers and others are digging and searching in the ruins; . ■ ■ '
