PACKING VEGETABLES

(Tq the Editor.)

Sir,—Most people know that the market conditions of Wellington are not altogether satisfactory. One may deprecate the fact that sellers who should know better sit and stand about on the goods the public consumes, but the vendor to pack his wares in benzine and kerosene tins that have lately contained spirit is scandalous. I can hardly blame the greengrocer, who cannot be expected X h* sniffing these packages. Sometimes tha condition is not noticeable until the food is cooked.
