KILBIRNIE AND HUTT.
v By occupying the batting crease for the jvhole of the afternoon, during the course of which they made 330 for the loss of three wickets, Hutt made a draw of their match with Kilbirnio on the Hutt Recreation Ground on Saturday. Steady, batting snd some, good performances marked the Hutt innings, the outstanding feature being a chanceless 197 not out by R. B Ross.
On the first day Kilbirnie put on 460 for the loss of six wickets, and it waa at this stage that the innings was declared closed. Ross and Biggar opened the Hutt innings, and gave the side an excellent start. They put on. 123 before Biggar, who bad reached 49, was stumped by Virtue off Griffiths. Burch was next and another prolific partnership ensued, and the pair put on 178 for the second wicket. Burch was then clean bowled by Tucker. ' H's score included one 6 and four 4's" jVarnes was bowled by Crook, but M'Kenzie, who followed, played out time with Ross, who was unlucky in not reaching the double century. He' had played a steady, solid innings, and his score included two 6's and twenty-six 4's. Details:—
