TWO MEN DROWNED

.CHEISTCHURCH, This Day.
Two men, James M'Lenaghan, aged 57, a'married man, of 14, Somcrficld street, Spreydon, and Hurtle Fisher, aged 55, a married man,-of 371, River road, Richmond, were drowned in the Waimakariri Bivcr. ; near Brooklands last night. They were returning to Brooklands from Kairaki in a tin punt after trawling, when a storm came up and the waves sank tho vessel.
A son,..'.P. M'Lonaghan, and D. Basset* reached the shore safely in another boat, and returned, but could not'locate tho victims.
