The canvass in the surrounding country districts will also bo pushed ahead as rapidly as possible.
The acting-treasurer, Mrs. Joseph Caselbcrg, reports that the amounts collected in a comparatively small number of Masterton streets -and at the Masterton A. and P.-Show total £74. A majority of the Masterton collectors have not yet handed in their returns and some have not yet made their' collections. Some, people, Mrs. Caselberg observed, appeared to bo under the mistaken idea that the VVairarapa campaign was to be delayed to coincide with the Wellington City campaign, which does not open until next month. This, however, was quite erroneous..lt was desired, as stated, to complete the local collection by the end of next week if possible. All collectors are urged to send in their returns as soon as possible and those who wish to inako donations direct, instead of waiting for tho collectors with their coupons, are requested to send in their cheques to Mrs. Jordan.
