MURDER IN ARIZONA

FIRST WOMAN HANGED

(Keceived 22nd February, 2 p.m.)

VANCOUVER, 21st February. The first woman ever executed in Arizona was hanged at Tucson. She and Mrs. Eva Dugau three years ago killed Albert Ma'this, an aged rancher, to secure possession of his farms. The woman and Mathis went for a motor ride, and the man never returned. His body was not discovered for a year. Dugan, at. the trial, asserted that the actual slaying had been done by a 19----year-old youth, but though she received letters purporting to be from him, he did notmaterialise, and the police are satisfied that he never existed.
