The B connexional fire insurance funds busi- " ness was introduced by the Eev. M. A. ■' E. Pratt (tho connexional secretary). 1 The report stated that during the year 3 1929 good business had been done, 64 ' new risks had been accepted, total--1 ling £37,392. The present insurances on churches, schools, halls, parsonages, 1 etc., totalled £,568,190. The year's in- ' come reached £3457 5s 7d, but there was a surplus on the year's working [ of £2405 15a Id. It was gratifying to 3 note that the trustees of large connex-. 3 ional properties were now freely placing '' thier .insurances with the connexional 3 office, and it was urged that trustees 3 should more generally follow this example, the statement being made that r the board pursued a careful policy, " which gave great security to insurers. r Another reason for commending the I eonnexional insurance fund was tho fact that it gavo considerable help to 3 various benevolent and other funds of c' the church, the grants in this direce tion during 1929 totalling' £737. The '" report of the board was adopted. II The World Conference on Faith and 0 Order was referred to by the Eev. M. a A. E. Pratt, who, in presenting the report of the committee, stated that the Continuation Committee was carrying on the work for Christian unity begun at the Lausanne Conference.in 1927. Reports of action taken by 60 nation-wide churches in many countries, in respect of the problem of disunion, gave cause for encouragement. There were grows ing indications of a strong desire in all n lands for a completer unity of the forces of the Christian Church. The s expense of carrying on a world-wide :S propaganda was considerable, and towards this expense a vote of £10 was : recommended from tho Methodist contingent fund. The report of the com- . mittee was adopted, and the grant en- (.. dorsed. 3 _ Many appreciative references were 3 _ made, upon his becoming a -supernumy erary, to the work of the Rev. A. Mitchell, of Auckland, during a ministry _ of 40 years, including his distinguished !. service during the war. An appropri3. ate minute was submitted for inclusion 3i in the records of the conference pro-
