Mrs. Marjorie Willc f,1 Mather, Charles P. Mather, vjho was .severely burned as a result otf a petrol .can catching fire in. a' shed, died at, 5.30 o 'clock to-night. : t, , .' ■ ... Mrs. Matlier was lc iloldiig for fuel in thu slicd, and struck.1;, a, match, which 'ignited some petrol leaking from the can. Hearing the ,sc i-eains of'the victim, Miss H. M. Kei st, who has. a flat on the ground floor of tho house in which Mr. and Mrs I Mather, lived, rushed to the sceno ] with rugs jwhiek she dragged from, a j Clothes line, and managed to smother (the flames' by rolling' Mrs. Mather on J the grass." . Mrs. Mather was attendeel^ by doctors before being taken to &t, jGebrge's, Hospital. The shed was only i slightly damaged; the "Fire Brigade arriving soon after.
