FALSE RETURNS OF INCOME

DUNEDIN, 21st February.

In the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, Leo Curtis, licensee of M'Bride's Hotel, Queenstowu, was found guilty on five counts of wilfully making false income.tax returns. On the first charge ho was fined £50, and on eacli of the other four he was- fined £30 with costs 10s and solicitor's fee <£3 3s. ITive charges of negligently making false returns were withdrawn.
