♦ , ■ Police cases in the Magistrate's Court this morning were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M. Two "first-offending inebriates were each fined ss, and another was fined 10s, the amount of his bail. Joshau Ede, aged 42, was fined £1 for_ his second statutory offence of drunken-' ness. A remand until Wednesday next was granted in the case of Alfred Joseph Osbornc, aged 40, who is charged- on two counts of breaking and entering by day. Mr. W. E. Leicester appeared for the accused, who was granted bail in his own bond of £100 and one surety of £100.^ "This is one of a series of charges which will be preferred against this lad. Ha has been doing a considerable amount of what is known as 'hotel barbering,' " said Chief Detective Lopdell when applying for a remand until Friday next in the case of Godfrey Ernest Parmenter, aged 19. Parmenter is charged with stealing a wallet containing £6 and a railway ticket, of a total value of £12, the property of William Thomas Cowley. The remand was granted.
