OBSTETRIC .CHAIR CAMPAIGN
Satisfactory ' reports havo. been received by the Wellington Committee of tho organisation which has been formed for the ..-rawing of-funds'as 'an endowment of-a chair .of obstetfics,.in the Medical School at Otago University. The Wellington district includes the whole' of tho southern portion of the North Island. , Committees have been set up. in-numerous; centres, and active work for the- campaign is, in progress. Several large,donations have been'promised, and the disposal of .shilling coupons has enabled those -who cannot givo largo sums to_ contribute accordin to their means. Tho Wellington committee has arranged-. to ; subdivide tho city and suburban, districts into divisions, in order to avoid overlapping, and a systematic, canvass will be made in each district for. an object which vitally affects the- health and well-being of,'the- nation, and which, in tho words of Her Majesty the Queen, involves "the protection of motherhood, the; well-being- of infancy, and will- be tho means of..saving many valuable lives." .'•.'..
