COMMODORE BLAKE'S STATEMENT
It was officially announced by the Prime Minister (the Eight Hon. Sir J. G. Ward) to-day that tho statement made this week by Commodore, Blake, of H.M.S. Dunedin, i and published throughout the Dominion, iv regard to tho situation in Western Samoa, was made without the knowledge of the Government, and that apparently it was an expression of the Commodore's own opinion. ■■
