NEW VOLUNTEER FORCE
ANNUAL CAMP VITAL FACTOR
SYDNEY, 20th February.
Major-General Brand, second in command of the General' Staff, stated in an address to the Millions Club to-day that Australia's new militia, which would be dressed in more attractive uniforms than hitherto, would approximate 35,----000, but would be capable of expansion in case of aggression to 180,000.
The average age of tho 20,000 who had already volunteered was 23 years. He- hoped employers would enable the trainees to take the fullest advantage of- tho annual camp. I Their attitude would be the deciding factor in tho success of the volunteer force.
