TRAFFIC BYLAWS
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —About 8.40 this morning, driving along Adelaide road at 25' miles per hour, I was stopped by a traffic officer, who explained that the speed was excessive, and should have been restricted to 15 miles per hour passing "school" notices. , , I quite agree with the bylaws in connection with the speed of motor vehicles in the vicinity of schools, and will reduce speed to 15 miles in future, but unless other drivers also reduce their speed passing school notices, it is likely to .cause damage to cars who slow down to 15 miles.
After being stopped ''by the traffic officer this morning, I slowed down at the next school notice to 15 miles per hour, and as a result a . City Council bus following immediately behind me flashed past at at least 30 miles per hour, and missed me by inches. It would appear, therefore, that the City Council should put its own house in order first before complaining about others not adhering to the traffic bylaws, although as a general rule I must admit that their bus drivers are usually very 'careful.—l am, etc., >
