CANTERBURY COMPLAINTS

CHRISTCHUKCH, 20th February.

Though' the Marine Department has stated that no licences to net salmon would be issued this year from the Christchurch Office, two men in Canterbury are netting1 salmon in the Waimakariri River on tho authority of licences issued from Wellington.-

The matter has been the subject of numerous complaints by anglers, who state that fishing in the river will bo seriously affected, if netting is allowed to continue. ■■ . ,
