AUSTRALIAN DRIED FRUITS SUPPLY.

Representatives of four States attended the opening of the conference of the Dried Fruits Board in Sydney. The New South Wales' Minister of Agriculture (Mr. H. C. V. Thorley) said his Government would give' sympathetic consideration _to any decisions reached. The Victorian Minister of Agriculture (Mr. W. Slater) said though,all States had uniformity of legislation on the dried fruits industry, there was no uniformity of regulation of the export trade. To-day the world's total production was 357,000 tons, but the present limit of consumption w*s only 335,000 tons.
