HOLDEN'S MOTOR BODY BUILDERS.
The'directors of.Holden's Motor Body Builders, Ltd., have declared a. dividend of 8 per cent, per- annum, as laat year; on "A" and "B" preference shares, and an interim dividend'for the half-year ended- 31st December,' 1929, of 6d per share on ordinary shares,-■ on which dividend for the past financial -, year was 10 per cent. The board points out that the financial results, as disclosed for the half-year, after1 making ample provision for depreciation, taxation, etc., on the same basis as allocated .during past half-years, are satisfactory, and the-profits earned are sufficient" tojpay the-same rate .'of dividend on ordinary and preference, shares as last declared.... The „ present half-year just _n-tered-upon,,'.however, is, .in the opinion of'the'directors,. W r bc a'difficult one, and this prompted'them'to , reduce tho divideud'on'ordinary'shares*,1 as in their judgment a prudent policy of conserving-finan-cial strength ■ is' essential in the "present) trading conditions of Australia.
