Sir,—Surely "In-a-JoV has overlooked the fact that it was: while the employers were singing ."Rule Britannia" and; saying, "Let the mea go to the war and we will temporarily keep their positions filled with girls," that women ousted men from their positions, and, being cheaper labour, have been retained ever since, thus preventing meu in many cases from obtaining sufficient salary to get married on, linless the lady also works for her living. When Cupid's shaft has sunk home no obstacles can prevent people from getting married. Why should marriage and work be reserved for the rich and the selfish?—l am, etc., . OUT-OF-A-JOB.
