"VICIOUS PRICE CUTTING"

Complaint was made by Mr. H. E. Swindell, secretary of the electrical trades union, in the course of his remarks at a deputation to tho Minister of Labour to-day, that vicious prico cutting is being indulged in in: connection with electrical contracts. Mr. Swindell declared that it indirectly, affected tho operatives engaged in the trade, who had to "go like slaves?' to make up for the cheap prices at which the work was being done. Moreover, constant supervision was necessary to ensure against bad workmanship.- "Tho number of endorsements .of licences owing to bad work," he said, "shows that the trade is in an awful state. Wo want to co-operate with the employers, but we can got no redress while that sort of thing goes on."
