TRANSPORT OF TIMBER
UNION COMPANY BUYS FLEET
(Received 19th February, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.
The Union Company has completed the purchase of the R. S. Lamb Company's timber-carrying steamers Gabriella, now en route for New Zealand, Kalingo, already in Dominion waters, Omana, at present laid up in Sydney, and a ship, now building in the United Kingdom, similar to the Kalingo. The vessels have generally been engaged carrying hardwoods from Coff's Harbour and Port Stephens to New Zealand, with return loadings of pine. .
