INTERNATIONAL DINNER
DUKE OF YORK'S SLOGAN
LONDON, 18th February.
Ambassadors and Ministers of forty nations, including Japan, Peru, Bussia, Abyssinia, Argentina, Irak, Persia, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Turkey, and Jugoslavia, as well as tho Australian and New Zealand High Commissioners, were present at tho British Industries Fair dinner at the Mansion House.
Mr. Arthur Henderson, Secretary of State, presided. * The Duke of York said that it was better to work, than to watch. Ho urged greater co-operation and attention to soiling. The Government had appointed a committeo, with Lord Cholmsford as chairman, to consider an extension of tho fair.
Miss Bondfield, Minister of Labour, mentioned that this was the first time that two women 'had ' attended the dinner —herself and Miss -Iris Howard, Agent-General for Nova Scotia— both by reason of office. Canada was exhibiting separately, and she hoped other Dominions would follow her example. , • '
