''■■ - At the Tariff Truce .Conference Mr. Graham, president of the British Board of Trade, said that unfortunately, there had beon an upward movement .; of tariffs in certain countries of Europe and other parts of the, world. There was 'no question of stabilising ■ existing 'tariffs. All countries should agree not to increase tariffs, but to' reduco them to the lowest possible limits; Ho hoped that the conference would agree to a Truce for two,or three years, during which negotiations could, be opened for a permanent agreement. He suggested the appointment of a committee to examino the report ■ and urged on the Conference immediate steps to carry out the provisions of the 1927 Economic Conference and the Assembly's resolutions in that relation. ■ N : ■ ■ :■•• ■■'■ - '■''-■'
