BIG FAIR OPENS

Thousands of prospective customers are reaching England this weok-end for the British Industries Fair, the two sections of which, one at Olympia, London, and tho other at Castle Broniwich, Birmingham, open to-morrow. The fair is tho greatest tradp exhibition the world has ever seen, and personal invitations have been sent to 200,000 trade buyers in sixty countries.
For the first timo tho London exhibition ia held in tho specially equipped Olympia, which offers greater comfort and accommodation than did the White City used in previous years. , Tho place of honour- in the main hall is given to a huge exhibit of tho Empire Markoting Board, which displays not only the products of the Home country, but of tho Dominions, India, and the Colonies.
Olympia is otherwise devoted to "light industries," such as clothing, and'a. display which offers goods to suit everybody from the bathing bblle to the Arctic explorer, pottery and glass, photographic equipment, sports goods, and scores of other products..
At Birmingham, where the heavy section of tho fair is held, the exhibitions havo increased until there are- eight miles of shop windows and four milos of gangways with stands on either sise, all arranged in sections to facilitate inspection of the goods in which visitors havo a special interest. Tho hardware and brass foundry sections have in particular developed this year.
The whole fair illustrates tho iinmenso scopo of British industry, as well as tho vigorous commercial enterprises now being displayed by it.
